AV-8B+ Harrier II VMA 311 Tomcats Prints

The Tomcat's of VMA 311 were formed early in the Second World War as Hell's Bells and flew Texans, Corsairs, Shooting Stars, Panthers, Cougars, and Skyhawks before converting to the AV-8B's in 1988. Currently based at MCAS Yuma, they have deployed multiple times both embarked with USN carriers and to forward deployment ashore locations and fly AV-8B+ Harrier II's. One of those jets, BuNo 165581, is a remanufactured, radar equipped AV-8B(R) and is depicted here loaded with a pair of GBU-54 Laser JDAM 500 lb bombs ready for a sortie from a foward depoyment field. She also carries a pair of external fuel tanks, a AN/AAQ-28 Litening Advanced Targeting Pod on the centerline, and a podded GAU-12 25 mm Gatling gun.
