The Fuujin’s of Hill AFB’s 4th Fighter Squadron flew F-16’s for 37 years before converting to the F-35 in 2017 with 15-5133 the first jet assigned to the squadron.
She is depicted in a “Day 3” interdiction configuration, also nicknamed “Beast Mode,” after the “red” air defenses have been rolled back and stealth is no longer the priority. Fitted with external pylons, 5133 carries 4 x GBU-49’s externally in addition to the 2 x GBU-31 in the weapon bay, and 2 x AIM-9X’s on the outboard in addition to the 2 x AIM-120’s on the Weapon Bay Doors.
