The 308th Tactical Fighter Squadron Emerald Knights called Homestead AFB home from just after the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 until south Florida was devastated by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. They had a mixed back of F-16A’s and Block 25C’s until they converted to F-16CG’s in 1991.

89-2046 is shown ready for an interdiction sortie with 6 x MK 82 LDGP bombs mounted on TER-9A’s and a pair of AIM-9M’s on the wing tips. She also carries a pair of 370 Gallon external wing tanks.
