The first of many... F-16A 78-0001's serial number not only means she was the first airplane in the 1978 budget, she was the first production F-16 of the 4,500+ Vipers built to this day.

After a brief stop at the Edwards AFB test wing, she was assigned to the 34 TFS at Hill AFB in the first Viper RTU squadron and then went to Nellis AFB with Hill's Det 1.

She is depicted in 1983 flying with the 310th TFS "Top Hats" when she and the entire F-16 RTU program had moved to Luke AFB's 56 TFW in Arizona. She's shown ready for a range ride with a pair of SUU-20 dispensers each carrying 6 BDU-33 practice bombs, a CATM-9P, a "hot" gun, and a 300 gallon centerline external fuel tank.

Any Fighter Studios print can be customized with different squadron marking, different store configurations, names on the nose or canopy rail. To get yours started, click Personalized Print for more information or click Email with questions
